Thomas & Friends Season 21 - Dowager Hatt's Busy Day (Review)

Season 21, Episode 3 - Dowager Hatt's Busy Day

I've been digressing a little bit from these reviews, but I've decided to get back on top of them.
As always, read with caution, as these will reveal spoilerific details of the episodes in question.

I went into this episode a little bit wary from since I heard the title, and I was worrying that we would harken back to the dark days, but the funny thing was that this story made complete fun out of that era of the show.
Sir Topham Hatt has retired for the day in the early morning when he is ill and his mother, Dowager, insists on him going back home, entering in a very Grand Theft Auto style.
Dowager goes about her planning for the day and hilarity begins to ensue as soon as a discarded handkerchief blows onto Percy's nose.

Emily overlooks everything that is going on across the railway and attempts time and time again to tell Dowager Hatt that her attempt of running a railway was not ethical, but lead to the preempted confusion and delay.
There is a wonderful scene where a concord of engines are stuck in the points at the front of Knapford Station with all sorts of loads and goods, which all bring back dreaded backwater thoughts of Season 13 to 15 that made me laugh until I had stitches.
It was also fun to see so many characters pulling so many different and strange things in the background and was good to see so many going about too.
I laughed even harder when Dowager mistook Gordon's name for Geoffrey, and we got the line from that title of THAT episode.
The story was wound up nicely with everything resolved and back into working order before the Fat Controller returned to full health, except for poor old Phillip, which made me laugh a little more.
All in all, it was a major comic relief episode and held up well, if you like a good laugh.

7/10
